NE NOW NEWS: A final decision on the board examinations for Classes 10 and 12 in Tripura will be taken on June 21.
This was informed by Tripura education minister Ratanlal Nath after a meeting held on Monday to take discuss the issue of board examinations for Class 10 and 12 students.
The meeting was attended by officials, president of the Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE), secretary of the education department, directors of social welfare & social education and health departments, former TBSE president, academicians, psychologists and eminent journalists.
All the participants in the meeting were of the view that there was no alternative to the board examinations.

Education minister Nath told reporters that another discussion on the matter will be held on June 21 to finalise the decision on the board examinations.
Minister Nath said: “Above all, everything depends on the green signal to be issued by the health department after re-evaluating the Covid19 pandemic scenario across Tripura. Only then, the board examinations may be conducted.”
The education department has sought opinions of the parents of the students regarding the secondary and higher secondary final examinations.
The parents can give their opinions online on the Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) website till 6 pm of June 15.
Currently, there are 74,000 students, studying in various government and government-aided schools in Class 10 and 12 across Tripura, who were enrolled to appear in the board examinations this year.
In the meeting, 19 personalities from various fields were invited while former education minister Tapan Chakraborty could not attend.
The Tripura Board of Joint Entrance Examination on Monday informed that the pre-scheduled Tripura Joint Entrance Examination, scheduled to be held on June 23, has been postponed due to unavoidable reasons.
The next schedule will be announced in advance on the Board’s website http://tbjee.nic.in and all concerned are requested to visit the website regularly.
