Director Nurul Alam Atique’s much-anticipated Liberation War film, “Lal Moroger Jhuti”, is set to open in local cinemas on Friday, December 10, to mark the 50th anniversary of independence. Earlier in November, the film received an uncut censor clearance certificate.
A special screening would be held at the Bangladesh Film Archive Auditorium, presided by the honourable Minister for Liberation War Affairs, Mozammel Haque, on Thursday, December 9, at 5pm.
“Lal Moroger Jhuti” marks the second big screen appearance of popular TV actor Ashna Habib Bhabna, who made her film debut with “Voyonkor Sundor”.
The cast also includes Laila Hasan, Ahmed Rubel, Ashok Byapari, Ashish Khandaker, Joyraj, Shilpi Sarkar, Ellora Gowhar, Jyotika Jyoti, Dilruba Doel, Swagta, Shahjahan Shamrat, Dipak Sumon, Khalilur Rahman Kaderi, Saikat, Jubayer, Ananta, Matiul Alam, Hasimun and others.
The Liberation War-themed film bagged the government grant in the fiscal year 2014-15 and spent six years in production. Filming wrapped up earlier last year in different areas of Kushtia, Tangail and Gauripur.
Written and directed by Nurul Alam Atik, the film will get a release under the banner of Pandulipi Karkhana.
