Community News Desk: Shilpi Akhter returned home from Saudi Arabia with the efforts of the Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh.
Shilpi, who had been working as house help in Saudi Arabia, expressed his sincere thanks and gratitude to the embassy for being able to return to his parents in the country.
Shilpi Akhtar arrived in Dhaka on August 14.
Shilpi, a resident of Chunarughat area of Habiganj, recently appealed to his parents over the phone to made arrangement for her return which was published in some newspapers on August 8.
When the matter came to the attention of the embassy, Bangladesh ambassador to Saudi Arabia Mohammad Javed Patwari BPM (Bar) immediately directed the Embassy’s Labor Welfare Wing to send domestic worker Shilpi Akhtar to home on an urgent basis after collecting her dues.
In this context, the labor welfare wing of the embassy contacted the Bangladeshi recruiting agency “Four Sight International” and collected the workplace address and passport number of Shilpi Akhter.
The Legal Assistant of the Embassy, with the help of the ‘Support and Assistance Department’ of the Saudi Ministry of Labor and the relevant police station authorities of Al-Qasim region of the country, visited the scene and contacted the employer of Shilpi Akhter. They also help her to collect her dues and sent her to Bangladesh at the expense of the employer as per Saudi Arabia labour law.
Shilpi Akhtar’s parents also expressed their happiness as they get their daughter back.
