Publishing house Oitijjhya has paid tribute to writer, educationist and women’s rights activist Begum Rokeya publishing a collection of her poems titled Begum Rokeyar Kabita.
The book was published on Saturday on Begum Rokeya’s 143rd birth and 91st death anniversary, said a press release.
The book also contains an introduction written by poet-essayist and researcher of Begum Rokeya, Abdul Mannan Syed.
Earlier, Oitijjhya published a set of literary works of the writer in two volumes along with her novel Abarodh Basini.
The literary works of Begum Rokeya, published by Oitijjhya, are available at different outlets of Nirbachita, including Kataban, Uttara, Rajshahi, Khulna, Sylhet, Barishal, Cumilla and Jashore.

Begum Rokeya was born on December 9, 1880 at Pairaband in Rangpur.
Rokeya, through her writings, advocated that both men and women should be treated equally, and for society to prosper, women should have equal access to education with men counterparts.
Begum Rokeya passed away on December 9, 1932.
