Arts and Entertainment Desk: After months of debate and verbal approval, we finally know the date on which “Pathaan” will release in Bangladesh. From May 5, fans can finally see Shah Rukh Khan’s commercial blockbuster in our halls.
The film is being imported through the SAFTA agreement through Action Cut Entertainment. “A new era has dawned on us,” said Anonno Mamun, on behalf of the organisation. “By Eid, 40 halls will be ready and capable to display ‘Pathaan’.”
Earlier, government of Bangladesh approved the import of films made in the languages of Indian subcontinent on five conditions including export of films made by Bangladesh. 8 films can release this year, and another 10 can release in 2024. The ministry of information and 19 film-related organisations came to this decision on February 12.
‘Pathaan’ was released on January 25. The film, which is said to be one of the most successful Hindi films of all time, features Deepika Padukone, John Abraham and Salman Khan in a cameo appearance.
