Sports Correspondent: The Bangladesh Football Federation on Wednesday decided to increase their salaries of women footballers and they made a list of 31 players, who will be under their contract for the next six months.
The contract signing ceremony was held at the BFF House on Wednesday in the presence of the BFF President Kazi Salahuddin, BFF Women’s Wing Chief Mahfuza Akter Kiron, BFF executive committee members and women’s team captain Sabina Khatun.
As per the contract, 15 out of 31 players will get Tk 50,000 each per month while 10 players will get Tk 30,000 each. Four players will get Tk 20,000 each and two will get Tk 15,000 each per month.
Sabina Khatun, Krishna Rani Sarkar, Rupna Chakma, Masura Parvin, Shamsunnahar, Sheuli Azim, Nilufa Yesmin Nila, Anai Mogini, Maria Manda, Monika Chakma, Shamsunnahar Jr, Ritu Porna Chakma, Sanjida Akhter, Marzia and Tohura Khatun are listed in the top salary cap.
Sohagi Kisku, Sapna Rani, Afeida Khandakar, Shaheda Akter Ripa, Shorna Rani Mandal, Mst Aklima Khatun, Mst Surma Jannat, Sathi Biswas, Sumaya Matsushima and Unnoti Khatun will get Tk 30,000 per month while Mst Halima Akther, Kohati, Nasrin Akter and Mst Eity Khatun will get Tk 20,000 per month.
Miss Rupa and Airin Khatun will get Tk 15,000 per month, according to the new contract.
Earlier, the players got a monthly salary of around Tk 10,000 except Sabina Khatun, who earned a maximum of Tk 20,000.
The players have been staging a number of protests and refrained from training a few times in recent months in demand for raising their salaries and other facilities including food, accommodation and sports kits.
