Denis Giles, Port Blair: The BRC South Andaman with the support of Pankh Andaman (NGO) inaugurated a Resource Room for the children with special needs at Govt. Senior Secondary School Junglighat on October 13th 2023. Pankh facilitated the children with basic learning essentials and also furnishing the Resource Room.
Shri Gyan Sheel Dubey, Deputy Education officer, South Andaman inaugurated the resource room which was followed by a cultural programme presented by the special children and a cake cutting ceremony. Gifts were also given to all the special children.
The gathering was addressed by the chief guest and also by Shri M. Nehru, Principal GSSS Boys School stating the importance of these resource rooms. The founder president of Pankh, Smti Komal Anand along with the members of the NGO were also present for the program. Komal Anand encouraged the mothers of the special children. The programme concluded with a Silent National Anthem (sign language).
