Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said on Tuesday the relations between Bangladesh and India is now much stronger, warmer, friendlier and development-oriented ones than any time in the past.
He came up with the remarks after Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Riva Ganguly Das paid a courtesy call on him at his secretariat office.
If relations with neighbouring countries remain friendly and strong, it gets easier to attain development goal and resolve unsettled bilateral issues, Quader told reporters.
He also said Bangladesh-India relations are time-tested ones and tied to the bonding of bloodshed in 1971 Liberation War.
During the meeting, they discussed the progress of different projects in road infrastructure development and enhancing the capacity of public transport in Bangladesh under the Indian credit.
He said the relationship-bridge between the two countries is progressing towards a newer dimension day by day.
The minister extended his thanks to the High Commissioner for her cooperation in implementing road infrastructure development projects.UNB
