Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today warned the party leaders and workers against intrusion of wrongdoers and opportunists into the party as none will be spared for doing any acts that contradict with the party discipline.
“We will have to remain alert so that no wrongdoer like Papiya can intrude into party. Any sorts of acts that can violate party discipline will not get mercy,” he told a discussion marking the National Mourning Day.
Quader, also minister for road transport and bridges, joined the discussion virtually from his official residence on parliament premises, arranged by Jubo Mahila League, at AL’s Bangabandhu Avenue central office here.
“We cannot let the party’s massive achievements get tarnished due to misdeeds of a few persons,” he said urging the party leaders and workers to remain alert as none can make misdeeds using the party identity.
The minister said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s government has taken a zero tolerance policy against irregularities and corruption as it did not consider party identity while bringing any wrongdoers to justice.
Castigating BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, he said actually BNP has fallen in deep frustration after failing in elections and movements so that Fakhrul finds only disasters in politics and the health sector.
Quader said BNP has no link with people and without standing by people in their miseries, the party leaders are deliberately confining themselves to home.
Now it is their key task to make their typical fabricated comments on media as they are now seeing darkness in broad daylight, he added.
Jubo Mahila League President Nazma Akhter chaired the discussion while AL Office Secretary Barrister Biplab Barua, Education and Human Resources Affairs Secretary Shamsun Nahar Chapa, Central Working Committee member Marufa Akhter Poppy and Jubo Mahila League General Secretary Apu Ukil addressed among others.BSS
