The Russian Center for Science and Culture (RCSC), Dhaka organized an online literary seminar on the 192nd birth anniversary of Russian writer Lev Tolstoy on September 10, according to a press release.
Members of Kanthashilon (a cultural association), students of the Russian Language Courses and lovers of Russian literature took part in the program.
Zahid Reza Nur, a Bengali journalist, translator, graduate of the Faculty of Philology Kuban State University (Krasnodar) and general secretary of Kanthashilon prepared a video presentation in which he described about the life and work of Leo Tolstoy (September 9, 1828 – November 20, 1910).
Participants also read selected parts of Lev Tolstoy’s literature in Russian and Bengali. They also expressed their views regarding the influence of Russian authors on the contemporary literature. The seminar was followed by virtual exhibition.
