Md Anwar Ullah: President Kazi Mohammed Salahuddin, being elected for the fourth term, has promised district league during the installation ceremony of the newly-elected executive committee members of the Bangladesh Football Federation.
Meanwhile, the inaugural meeting of the newly-elected executive committee of BFF was held on Sunday with some new faces along with members of previous committee was entrusted with different duties for their four-year tenure.
For last two years, Salahuddin was repeatedly reproached for not reviving the district football league across the country.
Salahuddin promised to shoulder the responsibility to make the district level organizers of football to hold the leagues without break, emerging from the first meeting of the new EC committee told The Independent.
Salahuddin, who is now the chairman of the District Football League Committee said, “There were so much talking and I had to receive too criticism with the disruption of district football league.”
“This time I choose the responsibility to look after myself as I would not have to depend on others to maintain the stability without any break,” he added.
“I will ensure that from this time the district league will be very regular. In every district the league would have be organized. All of my colleagues will support me. I will form strong committee to make the commitment success. The committee will provide financial, technical, logistic support to the leagues along with monitoring. If any district fails to organize league, administration will take the responsibility to organise league,” Salahuddin said.
The BFF boss sounded a cautionary signal to all the districts that if any of them fails to organise the league and the competitions, will lose their councillorship and the BFF will organize league.
The Senior Vice-President Abdus Salam Murshedi retained the chairman post of the Professional League Committee and the finance committee as he was in the previous three terms while Kazi Nabil Ahmed was made chairman of the National Team Committee as he was in last three times.
Among two newly-elected vice-presidents – Imrul Hassan got the Dhaka Mohanagari League Committee chairman post while Ataur Rahman Bhuiyan Manik was made the chairman of the development committee.
The BFF president also expressed his gratification with first meeting of the new committee and said, “As a first meeting it was very much productive, all, be they newcomers and old chaps, were very cordial and ready to work. We have already formed some committees, as we will have to start our job very soon.”
