Bangladesh Railway (BR) will operate six pairs of special train in a bid to facilitate the journey of homebound and return passengers marking the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.
The authorities of BR also decided to sell advance train tickets from April 23 under special arrangement.
The special trains will begin plying on different routes from capital Dhaka on April 29.
Along with regular train services, these special services will be operated till May 1 before the Eid and till May 8 after the Eid.
Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan made the revelation at a press conference at Rail Bhaban in Dhaka on Wednesday noon marking the sale of advance Eid tickets.
According to Railways minister, the tickets will be sold on April 23 for the journey of April 27; tickets to be available on April 24 for for the journey of April 28. Eid holidaymakers will have to buy tickets on April 25 for journey of April 29; April 26 for journey of April 30; and April 27 for the journey of May 1.
