Bangladesh confirmed 33 more deaths from the coronavirus on Wednesday and detected 3533 new cases of infection in the last 24 hours.
With this, the death toll from the deadly virus rose to 2,457 and the number of total infections stood at 193,590.
Additional Director General of Health Directorate Professor Dr Nasima Sultana made the disclosure during a virtual briefing today.
Bangladesh reported its first cases on March 8. The number of cases has spiked in recent weeks.
Coronavirus cases were first reported in China in December last year.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) declared the coronavirus crisis a pandemic on March 11.
