Umman Nahar Azmee from New York: A ten-day long road show titled “The Rise of Bengal Tiger “, to attract foreign investors and non-resident Bangladeshis (NRBs) to invest in the country begins today (Monday) in Bangladesh time in the United States.
The stock market regulator – Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) – is organising the mega programme.
The purpose of this road show is to showcase the strength and opportunities of business and investment in Bangladesh for the investors abroad.
The show will also highlight the potential of Bangladesh’s economy, investment, trade, Bangladeshi products and services, the stock market and the bond market.
Salman F Rahman, private industry and investment adviser to the prime minister, will inaugurate the road show at the Hotel Intercontinental in New York.
The investment road show will also be held in three more important cities of the US–Washington DC, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
The regulator will hold the programme to uphold new investment opportunities and the scope for private equity and venture capital investment in Bangladesh beginning July 26.
A stakeholder meeting will also be held on July 26 in Washington to demonstrate the scenario and opportunities to the investors.
On the first day of the show, two sessions will be conducted in New York. The morning session will be attended by the NRBs while the afternoon session will be focused on the foreign investors.
Expatriate Investors Conference on the country’s capital market will be held in the first session while Foreign and Institutional Investors Conference in the second session will be held on the same day.
The Investors Conference will be held on July 30 at the Hotel Intercontinental in Los Angeles.
On July 30, there will also be an afternoon summit in participation with the potential investors of the region.
The summit will be attended by high level delegates from Bangladesh and USA.
The US-Bangladesh tech and investment summit will be held to showcase Bangladesh’s rising tech industry. The promramme aims to make the foreign investors understand that it is high time they invested in technology sector of Bangladesh especially in high-end technology products having a large potential market here.
The US-Bangladesh investment conference on technology will be held on August 2 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in San Francisco.
