Lifted by Prantik Nawrose’s century and half centuries from Meherob Hasan and Iftakhar Hossain and a group effort from the bowling department, Bangladesh registered a 113-run victory at Eden Gardens and currently lead the tournament table with eight points.
Bangladesh batted first after winning the toss and posted 305 runs losing six wickets after 50 overs.
Despite early loss of opener Mahfijul Islam (15) the visiting side kept to the course riding on a 95-run stand for the second wicket between Iftakhar and Nawrose.
Iftakhar perished scoring 57 involving half a dozen boundaries but Nawrose held his ground and scored 101 to propel Bangladesh to the big total.
The 108-ball innings of the left-handed batter was laced with 14 boundaries.
Meherob gave the last push to the total adding a blistering unbeaten 70 off 48 deliveries comprising six boundaries and two over boundaries and not allowing the cheap dismissals in the middle order to affect much.
Defending the total, the Bangladesh bowlers restricted India U-19 B team to 192 runs in 45.3 overs.
Right-arm spinner Ariful Islam bagged four wickets to lead the bowling charts, conceding just 22 runs in seven overs.
Naimur Rohman Noyon took two wickets.
Bangladesh U-19 in their next two games of the league phase will take on India U-19 A team Thursday and then India U-19 B team Saturday at the same venue.
The final of the triangular series is scheduled to take place Tuesday.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India is hosting India U-19 A, India U-19 B and Bangladesh U-19 teams in the triangular series to help the young players get some much-needed practice ahead of the U-19 World Cup 2022 in the West Indies.
