DHAKA- The Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) of the ICT Division is going to organize a job fair for differently-abled people or persons with disabilities at the office building of the NGO Affairs Bureau in the city’s Agargaon area on January 7.
Interested job seekers, differently-abled people or persons with disabilities has been asked to submit their curriculum vitas (CVs) or resumes through the following link https://emporia.bcc.gov.bd/jobportal/job-fair, said a press release here today.
Noting that so far, about 400 CVs or resumes have already been submitted, the release said among the job aspirants, those, who are skilled in information technology (IT), will be selected.
It is mentioned that since 2011, the BCC has been imparting training to the people with disabilities on ICT at free of cost while the job fairs are being organized since 2015 for them.
So far, about 800 ICT-skilled persons with disabilities have been employed through the previous job fairs, said Md Golam Rabbani, BCC Manager (Systems) and Coordinator of job fair 2023.
The ICT-based organizations belonging to different trade bodies or associations will participate in the fair.
Among the notable organizations, Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS), e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB), Bangladesh Association of Contact Center and Outsourcing (BACCO), Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB), Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS), Cyber Cafe Owners Association of Bangladesh (CCOAB), Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA), Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) will take part in the fair.
The job fair organizing authority hopes that it will be possible to provide jobs to more than one hundred persons with disabilities through this fair. The Centre for Services and Information on Disability (CSID) is supporting in this regard as a partner of the fair.
