Sports Correspondent: Bangladesh Football Federation on Wednesday announced the 2023 calendar for the national football team.
As per the calendar, there will be five FIFA windows throughout the year — March 20-28, June 12-20, September 4-12, October 9-17 and November 13-21.
The committee decided to host two FIFA tier-1 matches during the first window of the year in March.
They also decided to participate in the preliminary joint qualification round 1 for FIFA World Cup 2026 and AFC Asian Cup 2027 from October 12-17 and in the preliminary joint qualification round 2 for FIFA World Cup 2026 and AFC Asian Cup 2027 from November 16-21.
The BFF announced their participation in the 14th SAFF Championship which is expected to be held in September in AFC U-23 Asian Cup 2024 qualifiers from September 4-12.
The decisions were made in a meeting, chaired by BFF vice-president and the committee chairman Kazi Nabil Ahmed, at its house on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the committee made no decisions on Spanish head coach Javier Cabrera’s future of the national team.
