BNP, the main opposition political party in Bangladesh, will hold a grand rally as part of its one-point oust-government movement in Dhaka on October 28.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir came up with the announcement from a rally held in from of the party’s Nayapaltan central office in Dhaka on Wednesday.
The rally was organized by BNP Dhaka north and south city units, with Abdus Salam, the party’s convener for Dhaka north, in the chair.
“It is our small-scale programme. Our journey will begin through the October 28 rally. We will not return home until the topple of the government. Many obstacles will come, but we will have to march forward by defying the obstacles,” said the BNP leader.
Fakhrul also asked the ruling quarter to be prepared for safe exit otherwise, the government will be forced to step down in the face of mass movement.
