Vikramaditya & John Wilbert, Port Blair: Arrival of MV Sindhu passenger vessel brought a lot of hope for the people of Andaman and Nicobar Islands but to the utter dismay of the Islanders the Directorate of Shipping Services has not released the sailing schedule of the vessel yet even after more than one month of induction.
Adding to the pain MV Coral Queen vessel has been again scheduled for Nancowry and Campbell Bay on 23rd August, tomorrow. This is worth mentioning here that people travelling to Nicobar District are totally against sailing of MV Coral Queen for such long journey, as passengers suffer more sea sleekness in MV Coral Queen than any other vessel due to its structure.
According to public sailing of MV Sindhu tomorrow would have been better choice for public as far as comfort and time of travel is concerned.
As per insiders in MV Sindhu the ship is totally ready for sailing and the ship crew members are waiting for permission of DSS. The fare of MV Sindhu has also been finalized now.
Later when an senior officer of Directorate of Shipping Services was contacted by Andaman Sheekha, the officer assured that the decision regarding sailing of MV Sindhu will be taken soon.
Through Andaman Sheekha, People of Nicobar District have now requested the Chief Secretary, to order sailing of MV Sindhu at the earliest and not to schedule MV Coral Queen for Nicobar District. News courtesy Andaman Sheekha
