They formed human chain at several places of Sharankhola Range
BSS: Amidst the ongoing COP26 Climate Change Conference, members of Bangladesh Poribesh Andolon (Bapa), Waterkeepers Bangladesh, Khowai River Waterkeeper and Surma River Waterkeeper observed a climate strike in the Sundarbans on Monday.
Local tourists also joined the event held at Katka and Dim Char of the Sundarbans.
The strike was observed at several places in Sharankhola Range for about an hour with placards reading “Save the Sundarbans”.
Dr Mostafa Shahjaman Chowdhury Bahar, organizer of Bapa Sylhet, presided over the function.
Abdul Karim Kim, member of Central Executive Committee of Bapa and Surma River Waterkeeper, and Tofazzal Sohel, member of Bapa National Assembly and Khowai River Waterkeeper, spoke on the occasion.
