The High Court (HC) today stayed a decision of the Ministry of Education, fixing the age-limit for taking admission in class six.
A High Court division bench comprising Justice JBM Hassan and Justice Md Khairul Alam passed the order after holding hearing on a writ petition filed in this regard.
“The ministry earlier had fixed the age-limit for taking admission in class-six, barring children younger than 11-year from applying for the admission. So my daughter was not getting the opportunity to take admission in class-six. That is why filed the writ petition, challenging the ministry decision,” petitioner Mizanur Rahman told newsmen.
Barristers Anik R Haque and Manjur Elahi Parag moved the plea before the court.
“The court also extended the time limit by seven days for the admission process for class six,” Barrister Haque said.BSS
