BSS: Journalists in Jamalpur formed a human chain on Saturday demanding the removal of the superintendent of police.
They gave the administration a 24-hour ultimatum for the removal of SP Nasir Uddin Ahmed from the event At the human chain held at the Doyamoyee intersection of the town.
On Friday, the SP hurled abusive words against senior journalists of Jamalpur Press Club for not attending a meeting of the Punak Fair.
The SP also threatened to implicate the journalists under Digital Security Act.
The human chain was presided over by Hafiz Rayhan Sada while it was addressed, among others, by Lutfar Rahman, Azizur Rahman Doll, Md Mukhlesur Rahman, Anwar Hossain Mintu, Bazlur Rahman, Soeb Hossain, Sultan Alam, Fazle Elahi Makam, Freedom fighter Abdur Rashid, Zahid Habib and Shah Jamal.
The journalists also declared further agitation programs including sit-in on the DC office premises and submission of a memorandum to the prime minister and home minister through DC on Sunday.
