Dr Jahanara Ehsan, wife of Former state minister for information Dr Murad Hasan, has filed a general diary (GD) with Dhanmondi police station against husband alleging death threats and torture.
Ikram Ali Mia, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dhanmondi police station confirmed the matter and said Dr Jahanara Ehsan had lodged a complaint with the police against former state minister for information Dr Murad Hasan.
“She brought allegations of torture and threat to kill her and her daughter against her husband,” he added.
Earlier, wife of former state minister Dr Murad Hasan has sought cooperation from police by making a call to the National Emergency Service at 999. Dr Jahanara Ehsan told police that she was tortured physically. Murad even threatened to kill her.
The matter was immediately communicated to the Dhanmondi Police Station. Receiving the call, a team of Dhanmondi police rushed to Murad’s residence.
Later, Dr Jahanara Ehsan came to the police station and filed the General Diary (GD). The GD no. 334.
