Vikramaditya, Andaman Sheekha: Residents of Long Island are once again in deep trouble as the only ferry ML Peema available between Long Island and Yerrata Jetty has been withdrawn from service since last three days due to lack of engine oil.
Although fuel is reportedly available but due lack of engine oil, the ferry is not being operated, leaving people of Long Island in deep trouble.
Now the former pradhan of Long Island Mr. B Kama Raju is reportedly operating his dinghy to help people to reach Rangat in case of urgent need.
Talking to Journalist Mr. Kama Raju said that he has already informed this matter to officers concerned but till now the problem is continuing.
This is sad to see that due to lack of planning how people of Long Island are made to suffer. In today’s age minor issue like demand for engine oil, should have been attended in one day but in this case three days are already over and it seems the situation might continue for a couple of day more.
Worst sufferers are patients and senior citizens, who need to visit Rangat Hospital and in absence of proper ferry they are facing huge difficulties.
