Rahul Singh & John Wilbert, Port Blair: On its trial run to Nicobar District, MV Sindhu while berthing at Breakwater Jetty of Campbell this morning reportedly hit the Dolphin (an additional RCC structure) near Breakwater jetty and sustained minor damages.
As per sources, the incident took place this morning while shifting the ship from RCC Jetty to Breakwater Jetty. No one in the ship was reachable for a comment and no officials in Campbell Bay were willing to share details in this regard but Andaman Sheekha Daily has learnt that the incident took place due to high wind, while going alongside the Breakwater Jetty early this morning.
The ship reportedly suffered some dents in the rear part and also there was some leakage of water in the ballast tank of the ship. The minor damages have been reportedly repaired and the ship is now ready to sail tomorrow morning towards Port Blair via Kamorta and Hut Bay.
