A&N Administration Urges Islanders to Follow COVID Appropriate Behaviour and Stay Protected
Port Blair: The Secretary, IP&T, Shri Sunil Kumar Singh while addressing COVID-19 media briefing held in the conference hall of IP&T here today said that the RTPCR test conducted on 311 flight passengers who arrived yesterday, 1 corona positive case has been detected despite having RTPCR negative test report from mainland. He said that 2 flights with 350 passengers arrived today and their RTPCR reports are awaited. He also mentioned that 116 persons bound for Middle & North Andaman were tested at Ferrargunj, out of which, 1 person has been detected positive. He urged the people to maintain social distancing and wear mask while venturing out.
The Secretary further stated that the vaccination drive is continuing smoothly and till 3 pm today, 470 eligible persons were inoculated in South Andaman District, out of which 259 beneficiaries were 18 plus while rest of them were above 45.
The Director, ANIIMS, Dr. A.K. Mandal informed that the number of corona positive patients admitted in the G. B Pant Hospital as on date is 7, out of which, 5 patients are on Oxygen support and no patient is on ventilator. The Deputy Director, G.B. Pant Hospital, Dr. Amitabha De disclosed that 1 COVID patient has been admitted in the COVID Care Centre at Port Blair. Source: andamanchronicle
