The country may experience rain or thundershowers in 20 regions including Dhaka due to active monsoon over Bangladesh, according to Bangladesh Meteorological Department.
The Met office on Wednesday forecast that monsoon rain may occur with temporary gusty or squally wind speed 45-60kph over the regions at Rajshahi, Dinajpur, Rangpur, Bogura, Pabna, Tangail, Mymensingh, Jashore, Kushtia, Dhaka, Faridpur, Madaripur, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar and south-southeastern Sylhet regions. The maritime ports of the regions have been asked to hoist cautionary signal No. 1.
In addition, people got relief after rainfall in most parts of the country including the capital. But, due to sudden rain, people had to face trouble.
Recently, the monsoon trough has extended from Rajashthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and central regions of Bangladesh to Asham and northern Bay of Bengal.
As a result, light to moderate rain or thunder showers may occur at places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Barishal, Chattogram and many places of Sylhet division, and few places of Rajshahi and Khulna divisions. In addition, heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur at some places of the country.
