Sports Desk: Former Bangladesh Premier League champions Rangpur Riders stepped outside the home soil as they will now also feature in the newly-introduced US Masters T10 League.
Rangpur has collaborated with US franchise Atlanta Fire and the Bashundhara Group-backed team will play the maiden edition of the tournament as ‘Atlanta Riders’. Five Bangladeshi cricketers – Nasir Hossain, Farhad Reza, Kamrul Islam Rabbi, Junaed Siddique and Elias Sunny – will also represent the Riders franchise in the tournament.
The franchise also picked West Indies opener Lendl Simmons, Indian batsman Robin Uthappa, Australian batsman David Hussey and New Zealand batter Grant Elliott in their 16-member squad from the player’s draft, held on Saturday.
The six-team tournament is expected to start next month.
