BSS, Dhaka: A seminar on “Economic Collaboration between Bangladesh and Japan: Public and Private Sector Investment” was held on Wednesday.
The seminar was organized jointly by Dhaka Branch Council (DBC), Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) and Japan-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JBCCI) held at ICMAB in the capital.
ITO Naoki, Ambassador of Japan to Bangladesh and HAYAKAWA Yuho, JICA Chief were present as chief guest and special guest respectively at the program, said a press release.
Yuji Ando, Chief Representative of JETRO, A.K.M. Delwer Hussain, President of South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) and Abu Bakar Siddique, President of ICMAB, AKM Kamruzzaman, Treasurer of ICMAB, and Bakhtiar Alam, Chairman of DBC, Asif A. Chowdhury, President of JBCCI and Tareq Rafi Bhuiyan, Secretary General of JBCCI were also present at the program.
The release said the discussants gave emphasis on economic prospects, increasing flow of Japanese investment and FDI in Bangladesh and the role of CMAs to ensure efficiency of Japanese investment in Bangladesh.
They also highlighted the importance of joint collaboration between ICMAB and JBCCI, Japanese companies and policy makers for improving the business environment of Bangladesh and creating more opportunities for engaging CMAs in the value addition activities of Japanese companies.
Dr Syed A Mamun, Vice Chairman of DBC, moderated the program.
