After being forced to shut down for almost seven months in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, schools in Tripura opened from Monday.
However, this is just a partial opening as only the students from Class IX to Class XII are allowed to attend classes, and that too only if a No Objection Certificate (NOC) is signed by the parents.
Moreover, only 50 per cent of the total strength of teachers would be attending the schools each day.
It may be mentioned here that MHRD had earlier directed the states to open the schools from September 21 onwards; however, Tripura deferred it two more weeks. Source: NE NOW
