Denis Giles, Port Blair: The villagers of Collinpur Panchayat today took to the street and blocked the road following the worst conditions of the road, which is a result of lack of attention by the A and N Administration. The protest was organised at Bengali Basti which was led by the Ex-UpAdhyaksh of Zilla Parishad South Andaman and Shri Balram Singh, social worker of the area.
Following the protest, the DySP Bambooflat, Executive Engineer, RCD Wimberlygunj along with the Tehsildar had to reach the spot to convince the agitators. The protest was called off after a written assurance for repairs of the road was handed over by the concerned authorities who visited the spot.
