Two members of Bangladesh national women team may join the Women’s T20 Challenge in the UAE organised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). However, an official announcement is yet to come.
A source from BCB has confirmed UNB that Bangladesh women team’s pace-bowler Jahanara Alam and spin-bowling all-rounder Salma Khatun are set to join the third edition of the Women’s T20 Challenge, which is often cited as Women’s IPL. Jahanara had played the last edition of this event as well.
“Jahanara and Salma are going to take part in the Women’s T20 Challenge. But we’re yet to know which teams they will represent. I think it’ll take at least a week to know that,” the source told UNB.
In the last edition of Women’s T20 Challenge, Jahanara represented Velocity Squad as the first Bangladeshi in the event and played two games scalping two wickets conceding 55 runs in eight overs.
The right-arm pacer represented Bangladesh in 37 ODIs and 71 T20Is taking 33 and 55 wickets respectively, while Salma Khatun played 34 ODIs and 74 T20Is scoring 379 and 531 runs respectively, she also bagged 35 and 66 wickets respectively.UNB
