Bangladesh News Desk: More than 100 cocktail bombs were exploded by miscreants at Benapole land port on Monday.
The incident left at least 20 workers of the port injured.
Media report said the miscreants did the wrongdoings while taking control over the Benapole Port-handling Workers’ Union today.
The incident resulted in closure of loading and unloading of goods in the morning.
Hearing the sound of bombs, port workers took to the street with sticks. They (workers) also halted the Benapole-Kolkata highway for three hours. At that time, the business establishments were also closed.
It is learnt that a long standing dispute is prevailing between two groups over the control of the port handling contracts.
