Tripurainfo: The development works in the Kuchainala Panchayat in Kamalpur Sub-division is being hampered seriously due to the absence of any elected Pradhan or Upa-Pradhan. The Panchayat secretary is holding the charge of the panchayat and running the day-to-day activities but not in a position to undertake any development works.
The factional feud among the nine elected members, all belonging to ruling BJP, was responsible for such a stagnation. The panchayat witnessed two no-confidence motions and ultimately disqualification of six members.
The six members were disqualified for violating the party whip on April 23 last and since then the panchayat is running without Pradhan and Upa-Pradhan. The six members who were declared disqualified includes Gautam Das, Motilal Das, Prabhati Malakar, Suman Das, Achintam Malakar and Shyamal Das. Most sufferers are the six wards got unrepresented due to disqualification of the members.
