Arakan News Desk: The newly appointed Director General (DG) of the Bangladesh Coast Guard, Rear Admiral Mir Ershad Ali, said: “We are cautious about the ongoing tension in Myanmar. Coast Guard patrols have been strengthened, manpower and various equipment have been increased, especially on the eastern border.”
He made the remarks after paying homage to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at his mausoleum in Tungipara on Saturday (January 3).
“Following the ideals of Father of the Nation, we want to maintain friendship to all, malice towards none. We want to have friendly relations without developing enmity with anyone. But we are constantly monitoring the issue of Myanmar. We are determined to ensure our maritime security,” Ali said.
