A Dhaka court on Tuesday sent 81 people to jail, who have returned from Vietnam recently, as police produced them along with two others, who have returned from Qatar.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Satyabrata Shikder sent those 83 people to jail as police produced them before the court after showing them arrested under section 54.
The court came up with the order as police pleaded to keep them behind bars till the end of the investigation in the case against the accused.
All 83 have been accused of involvement in different crimes in those countries and were in jail. Their host countries send them back to Bangladesh due to risk of COVID-19 transmission.BSS
