Abdul Wahid Talim, London, 11 December: In protest against the attack, vandalism and desecration of the country’s flag at the premises of the Bangladesh High Commission in Agartala, the ‘Akhand Bangladesh Andolan’ placed their 10-point demands to the rulers of Delhi on World Human Rights Day in a protest rally in front of the UK Indian High Commission.
Convener of ‘Akhand Bangladesh Andolan’, Hasnat Arian Khan, who presided over the rally, placed their demands and vision on behalf of the organization. At the end of the rally, he submitted a memorandum containing 10-point demands to the Indian High Commission.
The 10-point demands of ‘Akhand Bangladesh Andolan’ are-
1. Stop Indian aggression in Bangladesh.
2. Stop Hindu-Muslim communal incitement in Bangladesh.
3. Support and show respect to the democratic aspirations of Bangladeshi people.
4. Apologies to Bangladesh for the attack, vandalism and desecration of the country’s flag inside the Bangladesh High Commission in Agartala. Bring the culprits into justice system.
5. Ensure maximum security for Bengalis and Bangladeshis living there.
6. Stop border killings and prosecute all border killings.
7. Organize a free, fair and impartial plebiscite in West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, Andaman, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Arunachal, Sikkim, Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa, Chhattisgarh, Punjab and Kashmir.
8. Respectfully return the occupied parts of Nawabi Bengal to Bangladesh.
9. Individual criminal activities cannot be related to any party or group, or related to the people of Bangladesh. Refrain from associating criminal activities of individuals with any party, group, or nationality.
10. Implement the peace treaty signed by Sultan Shamsuddin Ilyas Shah of Bengal with Sultan Firuz Shah Tughluq of Delhi in November 1353 on the border of the two countries on the banks of the Kushi River in Bihar.
Senior journalist Sheikh Muhitur Rahman Bablu, journalist Hasan Jabed, journalist Mahbub Ali Khanshoor, Md Zubair Ahmed, Md Masuduzzaman, Mohammad Farooq, Hussain Ahmed and Shafiqul Islam and other leaders of the organization were present at the time.
The organization will celebrate 21 years in UK and 26 years in Bangladesh on December 16.
