Appellate Division of the Supreme Court (SC) would start holding hearing of cases virtually from July 19 on regular basis.
The apex court issued a notification in this regard today and posted it on its website.
Signed by its Registrar Md Badrul Alam Bhuiyan, the notification said from July 19, the Appellate Division would hold its regular hearing from 10am to 1.15pm through Sunday to Thursday, till passing of further notice.
“The cause list will be uploaded as usual on the Supreme Court website www.supremecourt.gov.bd and information regarding virtual hearing would be known from the email address ad.court.01@gmail.com,” the notification said.
The notification was issued a day after the apex court held its maiden virtual hearing in the country’s judicial history. Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain, during yesterday’s hearing, came up with the observation that this virtual hearing is a part of regular court proceedings.
The chief justice had also opined for taking forward the virtual hearing system, saying if it succeeds, the apex court would hold hearing on all five workings days a week.BSS
