Assam Senior ULFA-I leader Himalay Asom surrenders

NE NOW NEWS: Senior ULFA-I leader Jugen Mili, also known as, Himalay Asom has surrendered before the Assam police on Saturday.

Himalay Asom is the third senior ULFA-I leader after Drishti Rajkhowa and Jibon Moran to have laid down arms in the past one year.

Himalay Asom is a resident of Dibrugarh district in Assam. He had joined the ULFA in 1996.

Himalay Asom’s surrender is seen as a major boost to the government’s efforts to try and bring rebels to the mainstream.
