Community News Desk: Three people, including a Bangladeshi journalist and an engineer, have been missing for five days in Libya.
The missing people are Zahidur Rahman, 48, special correspondent of private TV channel NTV, Saiful Islam, a Bangladeshi engineer and their Libyan driver Mohammad Khaled.
Major Gen SM Shamim-Uz-Zaman, Bangladesh ambassador to Libya, said that they were taken away on March 23, but they are not sure who picked them up.
“We’re trying to reach the highest authorities,” he said.
According to family sources, journalist Zahid, also the director of Enam Medical College Hospital in Savar, flew to London on a Turkish Airlines flight on March 3. Later, from there he traveled to Ireland, Scotland and reached Libya on 21 March.
