Convener of BJP’s art and culture wing in Bihar, the state heading for Assembly elections, said the party plans to release a two-episode series on late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s life soon.
Patna: Bharatiya Janata Party’s art and culture wing in poll-bound Bihar has now released posters, seeking justice for late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The 34-year-old died by suicide at his Mumbai home on June 14 of this year.
“Na bhule hain, na bhulne denge (Neither have we forgotten nor will let anyone forget Sushant),” the posters by BJP’s art and culture wing in Bihar read. Earlier, the party had claimed that the actor’s demise will not be turned into an election issue ahead of the 2020 Bihar Assembly polls. In addition to posters, the BJP is also actively issuing car stickers with the actor’s photo and the same message as in the poster.
Defending their campaign strategy, the BJP’s art and culture wing in Bihar claimed Rajput’s death is an ’emotional’ issue and not a political one. The party has been campaigning both online and offline ever since the actor’s death, it added.
Convenor of the BJP’s art and culture wing in Bihar, Varun Kumar Singh told the Indian Express that apart from thousands of car stickers with Sushant’s photo and the message, masks with the late actor’s face on them have also been distributed in various districts. Singh feigned surprise that the campaign caught the national eye only in September.
In fact, Singh also told the national daily that the BJP’s art and culture wing in Bihar has shot a two-episode video on Sushant’s life. The same will be released on social media shortly, convener Varun Kumar Singh asserted.
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, and BJP leader Ram Kripal Yadav are among some of the political operatives who have met Sushant’s father in Patna following the actor’s demise.
