Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) forecast rain and thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds at many places over the country in the next 24 hours until Wednesday evening, reports UNB.
In a regular bulletin, the BMD said a low-pressure area has formed over East-central Bay and adjoining area and it is likely to intensify.
Besides, trough of westerly low lies over West Bengal and adjoining area. Southwest monsoon has advanced up to Cox’s Bazar coast. Conditions are favourable for further advancement of Southwest monsoon. “Light to moderate rain, thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty, squally wind is likely to occur at many places in Chattogram and Sylhet divisions,” said the bulletin.
The same was forecast for a few places in Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna and Barishal divisions and at one or two places in Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at different places in Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country in the tenure.
