UNB: Bangladesh citizens, willing to go abroad, must obtain coronavirus negative certificates from the government approved testing centres following due process, the government said Sunday.
The decision was taken at a virtual inter ministerial meeting held with Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen in the chair.
It was also suggested to post the COVID-19 testing reports on concerned institutions website so that the Immigration Department can easily verify those certificates.
Meanwhile, a dedicated COVID-19 testing facility will be developed for Bangladesh nationals who will go abroad for work.
Expatriates Welfare and Overseas Employment Ministry will set up the dedicated testing centre for expatriates Bangladeshis.
Health Minister Zahid Maleque, Expatriates Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Imran Ahmed and State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam attended the meeting.
Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen and secretaries of other relevant ministries were connected.
