The Bangladesh national cricketers will return to practice tomorrow (Thursday) at the home of cricket Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium after a four-day gap. The exercise will start at 2.30 pm and will continue till 5 pm, as per the schedule sent by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
With the chances of the Lankan series being over, the Tigers will be preparing for the upcoming domestic cricket from tomorrow to October 15. Earlier today (Wednesday) the cricketers underwent their fourth corona test. Along with the national cricketers, Under-19 cricketers, other staff and staff of the hotel Sonargaon where the Tigers will stay in a biosecure bubble gave their sample for OCVID-19 test. The BCB has tested the corona of about 100 people whose result will be available tomorrow (Thursday), an official of BCB said.
The national team cricketers, coaching staff and support staff who will be negative in the test will take part in a 15-day practice and will enter into the bio-secure bubble. As part of their practice session, the cricketers will also play two two-day matches and one three-day match.
On the other hand, the Under-19 players who will return negative will head to BKSP where they will have a four-week training camp.
“Around 100 people including cricketers, staff gave their sample for COVID-19 test. The cricketers and staff will enter into the bio-secure bubble once again. At least for 15 days they would have to be in the bubble,” said BCB sports physician Dr. Debashis Chowdhury.
The national team cricketers earlier entered the bio-secure bubble set up by the BCB on September 20 as the Sri Lanka series was approaching. They also underwent a corona test for that. But the series didn’t see the light due to indifference between the two boards over the quarantine period issue. The players also did a one week skill camp for the series.
After the chances of the series were over, the biosecure bubble was broken.
A total of 27 cricketers were called up for the skill camp for Sri Lanka series. Amongst them 11 players were in isolation as precaution. However later in another corona test, all players returned negative sans Abu Jayed Rahi.BSS
