Dhaka Office: The police have arrested a DIG and three police superintendents.
They were arrested from various places including Rajshahi, Rangpur and Nilphamari and brought to Detective Branch (DB) office at Mintu Road in Dhaka.
DMP Additional Commissioner (DB) Rezaul Karim Mollik said the arrested police officers are in custody. The next course of action has not been decided yet.

According to police sources, Rangpur Metropolitan Police arrested Superintendent of Police Asaduzzaman, the commandant of the in-service training center in Nilphamari, and took him into their custody. He was brought to Dhaka after noon.
Former Gazipur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Molla Nazrul Islam, who was attached to the Bangladesh Police Academy in Rajshahi, was also arrested.
Rangpur Metropolitan Police arrested Superintendent of Police Abdul Mannan and Abul Hasnat, attached to the Rangpur Range Office of the police. Detained DIG Molla Nazrul Islam was the Commissioner of Gazipur Metropolitan Police, DC of Dhaka Metropolitan DB, Special Police Superintendent of CID and DIG of Armed Police Battalion during the Awami League government.
There were allegations against the police officers that they applied force against students during July Uprising.
