Arakan News Desk: India has hosted a closed-door dialogue on Myanmar where participants called for reduction of violence by all sides in the country.
The dialogue, hosted by state-backed Indian Council for World Affairs (ICWA) on Tuesday in New Delhi, was the second round of “Track 1.5”. It was the follow-up of a similar exercise held in Bangkok last month.
Think- tank experts and representatives of Myanmar’s military regime, ASEAN countries–Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam were among the participants. Indonesia was present as ASEAN’s rotating chair. China and Bangladesh also attended it, according to reports.
Participants also underlined the need to create political space for dialogue in Myanmar.
