Entertainment News Desk: The Chamber Court of the Appellate Division in the Supreme Court has stayed a High Court order that barred Monowar Hossain Dipjol from performing duty as the general secretary of the Bangladesh Film Artistes Association.
As a result, there is no bar for him to perform duties as the association’s general secretary.
Chamber Judge M Enayetur Rahim passed the order on Monday.
Earlier, the High Court issued a ban on Dipjol from serving the Bangladesh Film Artistes Association as its general secretary after hearing a writ petition.
He, later, appealed in the Appellate Division seeking a stay order on the ban.
Actress Nipun Akter, who conceded defeat to Dipjol in the general secretary post, filed the writ petition alleging irregularities in the association’s elections and seeking directives to hold polls afresh.
