West Bengal News Desk: Bengal on Thursday reported 467 new Covid-19 infections, including 63 from Calcutta, a three-digit figure in a 24-hour period for 11 consecutive days since the spike in infections of the third wave.
The state also logged 1,367 recoveries and 15 deaths, resulting in a drop in active cases by 915 to 8,776. Calcutta reported two.
This was 32nd consecutive day of such a drop during the third wave in the state.
The positive confirmation rate — the percentage of samples testing positive — is 1.27 per cent. For 20 days, positive confirmation rate is below 5 per cent in a 24-hour period.
Covid recovery rate also improved for 32 consecutive days to reach 98.52 per cent. The national rate is 98.03 now.
Thirteen of the state’s 23 districts reported zero deaths. The mortality rate is 1.05 per cent now.
