Arakan News Desk: Armed Police Battalion (AAP) detained a Rohingya refugee with Yaba tablets worth Tk 5.7 crore in Cox’s Bazar on Thursday.
The accused has been identified as Sadek Hossain, 25, son of Mir Ahmed and Mubarak Begum of the Block-G / 16 of Camp-10.
Tipped off, a team of AAP raided the house of Sadek in the Balukhali Rohingya camp in Ukhia in Wednesday and seized 1.69 lakh pieces of the banned narcotics.
Additional Superintendent of Police Kamran Hossain of the AAP confirmed the matter and said, “”Sadek has been detained for questioning, and further action would be taken if necessary”.
‘The estimated sell price of the seized Yaba tablets is Tk 5,07,00,000,” he added.
However, a regular case is being filed against the arrested FDMN member along with the seized drugs at Ukhia police station.
