Members of the 14th Armed Police Battalion (APBn) in special drives at Rohingya camps in Ukhiya of Cox’s Bazar have so far arrested 172 people for their alleged involvement in various crimes since the murder of Rohingya leader Mohibullah, also the chairman of Arakan Rohingya Society for Peace and Human Rights (ARSPHR).
Of those arrested, ten people were named in Mohibullah murder case.
During the drive being launched since the Mohibullah murder on September 29, 11,294 pieces of yaba, 40 grams of cannabis, four home-made firearms, 4 rounds of ammunition and other harmful materials were recovered from the camps.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Md Naimul Haque of the 14th Armed Police Battalion (APBn) came up with the information on Monday (November 01).
